The Top 5 Tools for Increasing Landing Page Conversion Rates

There’s no shortage of programs which promise to help increase your traffic and boost your site’s position in the search engines. In fact, there are almost too many tools. You don’t want to deal with a whole bunch of programs. The easier option is to pick only one or two tools which do just what you need.

Your landing page is always your most consistently viewed page. So this is the page you should focus your efforts on. Here are a few tools I’ve had great success with. They’ve helped me to significantly increase the conversion rates on my landing pages. Let’s take a look:

1. Unbounce

When users bounce off your page, you’re losing a potential sale. The Unbounce tool lets you drag and drop various elements right onto your landing page. Available features you can add include text boxes, images, forms and more. The ability to easily collect email and other customer information is an important part of lead generation.

These responsive pages also work great for mobile users. Catering to mobile users is an SEO necessity.

Unbounce is also perfect for A/B split testing. You can create a landing page, copy it, make changes and then publish both. Unbounce provides a variety of analytics related to the conversion rates for each one.

You can try Unbounce for free for 30 days. Afterwards, their cheapest plan is $49 a month.

2. Instapage

Instapage is another drag and drop form creator for your landing page. This tool offers similar features as Unbounce, including the ability for A/B testing.

Instapage doesn’t have a free trail, instead offering an extremely limited free plan. You’ll most likely want to pay for a subscription. Instapage’s cheapest plan is just $29 a month, which makes it one of the best deals around.

Overall, Instapage is simple to use. This is a plus and a minus. You still have a ton of freedom and design options when creating your landing page accessories. But if you want intricate, absolute control, Instapage might not be as feature-rich as you’d like.

3. LeadPages

This is a popular choice among many top bloggers and other SEO pros. Solely a landing page creator, LeadPages is a multi-featured tool which offers a number of advanced features not found on other services.

Looking for templates? LeadPages offers a ton, and they’re even sorted by conversion rate. Keep in mind your actual conversion rate depends on a variety of factors, but the info is still very useful when selecting a template.

Note that the templates do cost about $10 to $15 a piece. LeadPages isn’t the cheapest option, but many people prefer the powerful features.

One feature many marketers like is the Leadbox. These are pop-ups which are displayed whenever a user clicks on a link within your content. They work well on landing pages as well as with content upgrades.

4. Launchrock

This one’s a little different. You don’t use Launchrock to create traditional landing pages. Instead, this is your tool if you want to create a “coming soon” type of page.

If you’re looking for a quick way to set up a placeholder page, Launchrock will get the job done. The platform is intuitive to use. Choose a theme, edit your message and you’re site instantly gains a professional look. Works great for sites which are launching either a new business or an upcoming product launch.

Launchrock is really designed for just one specific purpose, but if that’s what you need, this product is a great choice.

5. Hello Bar

You’ve probably seen this one around. This is the thin bar which runs along the top of a website. Hello Bar is an easy way to both display messages and collect email addresses.

Place an attractive CTA in the bar in order to link your landing pages to the rest of your site. You can also use the bar to display topical information such as a discount or limited time offer. Easier than editing page copy while also being more visually interesting to your audience.

Final Thoughts

I’ve had great success with all the programs above. The main difference is your specific needs and budget.

Each of these tools has an important role in optimizing your landing page for increased conversions. Quick to implement and intuitive to operate, I’d say landing page optimization is a must for every site. What’s your opinion? Do you have any techniques you’d like to share?
