The best way to check your own Backlink profile is through Google Webmaster Console by clicking under “Links to your site” and then displaying the tables and downloading the table, more sample links and latest sample links. In theory you will be able to find every link that Google knows about.
Checking out your competition is a different story. Every tool or resource for checking Backlinks utilizes there own web crawler and stores there own database, because of this they all show different results.
